Why the Internet is making me poor

Why the Internet is making me poor.
I love books. All kinds of books old, new, used, paperback, hardcover. I used to count how many I had but lost track. Last count was around 3500. mostly paperbacks. God I'm going to hate it when I move.
Right now I'm trying to complete a series of books. I've looked high and low for The novels to Emmerdale. I found most of them on Alibris.com but there was one or two they never had. Then I found Abebooks.com....Out of England...They have everything I would want plus I've found other stuff. The shipping is even cheaper them Alibris. The mailman is going to start wondering what I'm getting from Engand all the time.
I'm reading the Tim Cockey Books right now. Hitchcock Sewell mysteries. Really good reads. Fast, funny, sexy, two thumbs up.
And I'm also reading EX Giroux. Death of a Dilettante. EX is a author out of Canada that put out a series of books in the 80s. Also very good. Hard as heck to find..

Staying Connected on the Internet

First I can't believe that its been almost 6months since I came on here. It must be my very busy life.......

Anyway I got an email the other day telling me that I should update my profile on HI5. I don't remember ever going on there but I hit the link and go have a look see. Yep it was one of those online communities I signed up for back last Oct.
Leslie (Superweezie) who I used to work with got me to sign up. I've never been back since. I looked around a see that my one niece and a friend have requested that I accept them into my network. They must think me a jerk because I haven't done anything and they both asked back in November.
So what are these online Commuities. Myspace.com, Yahoo 360. HI5.com, Connexion.org. Yep I'm on them all. There may be more but I've forgotten them.
I've done a search for my area and the same people come up in each one. I also noticed that the average life of a member is about two months and the they move on to the next big thing.
I pretty sure that I wouldn't join any of these if it wasn't for someone going "its fun you have to join". At 41 it isn't that much fun to see a bunch of kids misspell words in their messages as they try to hook up or tell about their lastest conquest/beer bash...I'm getting old I know it.
If you see me in cyberspace stop by and say hi. I may read it in four or five months.
