River Front Walk

Since I've been told I'm a diabetic one of the many things I'm supposed to do is exercise. Running around the bookstore isn't enough I guess. 20-30 minutes of walking three times a week is what they would like...more if the time or energy. I've tried to walk the Malls but that ends up being to expensive...One lap to window shop and then second lap to buy..
So it was really nice out today and I had no real excuse of why not,so I went for a walk down on the river.
I went to the marina at the East Village as my starting point. There are little signs that tell you how far each place is. I figured the Bettendorf city limits would be a good start. 1mile each way. 1 mile out ok but half way back..ouch...heel ....blister...darn...took off my shoes and socks and came back barefoot...I figure it was a better risk then making it worse with the blister. Did my blood test when I got home..89. For those that don't know..yes that's really good.

Maybe I'll try for St Paul at a later date...

Ebay bound?

A couple years ago my dad cleaned out the cupboards and gave us some of it. My take from it was a set of coffee mugs, serving plate and cream and sugar set. Each cup has a different picture from around the world. There is Parliament from England. The Eiffel Tower from France. the Colosseum from Italy and on I don't think they were ever used. No one seems to remember where we got them from. I'm thinking it was one of those one piece a week things from Eagles. It was how we got a new set of encyclopedias. Or it could have been from the gas station. I haven't found anything on the net or in any books. If any one out there has any idea leave a comment. I don't know if I could ever use them. So afraid to break one...

Easter Peep

Since the D word has entered my life. My darling sister has tried to help me with keeping to the the diabetic diet. With Easter coming up I know that I'm going to be tempted with all the candy. Peeps are one of my favourites. Get the package and open just a corner to let them dry out a little then eat the whole pack....This year maybe one...or two. three but that would be pushing it...Well Mary has got me a peep that I can have and enjoy.....I just have to make sure that the niece doesn't try to microwave this one..
