Rainbow?

Flag,Herb,Sphere,Seedling,Heather, and Venetain. What are these? Colours of tee shirts that I got...I know I didn't want to get just blue or green so I force myself to pick other colours. This is what the tags say.

Horsing Around

This is Lisa and her horse Traveler. She is showing that its not that hard to parallel park a horse.

This is Lisa showing that she is eco friendly and not afraid of a little nasty hard work. I think that after dealing with that nasty mess dealing with the public isn't so bad.

Who Knew

this is David...He used to work with us...he escaped er left and now runs a business there in town. He was at a table that came in third...they had booze which I was told wasn't allowed...last time I listen to someone.

This is Lulu...she had to hide all night because I don't think her probation officer knew she went out of town. Oh and she is the disco queen.

Caretaker Jane...the real brains of the duo...

Old Lady Gimm always looking her....Hey is that David I see over there...

We did a trivia night in Eclaire last night. It was to benefit the Fire Department. We made a respectful showing. Really we didn't do that bad...It would have been a B if it was a test...Who knew that cows had 800 blood types...its not like that would come up in polite conversation. The areas that we didn't do that good in were...Sports arenas and March Madness. College Basketball??? UCLA wins and then we move on to next year....

Vacation.

In a couple weeks I'm on the first of my many vacation that I have through out the year.these are a couple of the places I'd like to go to..

Avaco in Ireland were Ballykissangel was filmed

Emmerdale in the Yorkshire Dales, better known as village of the damned

The Hotel Del in San Diego..you may know it from the movie Some Like It Hot.
$150 a night for a cheap room.

Birthday Wish List.

Since no one really got me anything off my Christmas list I just cut and pasted it up to here and renamed it Birthday list...
I will start with small items and then move onto larger ones as we go along.
First as Sally Brown ask for...Money. Any size shape or amount would be nice. My debt doesn't seem to be going away as fast as I would like.

Now onto the real stuff.
Kitchen tongs...Not thong that thought would just be wrong.
Tong..like they have in restaurants. Stainless steel so they go along with the rest of my stuff. 12in OXO or Krup brand.
A kitchen timer..now not any kitchen timer this one has to replace my clucking chicken timer. It got over wound by a great niece who shall remain nameless..the odder the better.
Tires.
DVD box sets of British shows. I've been told I have a thing about British tv but I don't really care because this was from a person that has seen Star Wars 47 times.
If you want to make this simple don't ask me what they are about you will just be confused..
Ballykissangel I have the first series
Midsommer Murders I have the first,Third, fifth and sixth. don't ask.
Rosemary and Tyme any of them
French and Saunders Any
Brother Cadfeal any

Any books I want I'll pick up for myself, same goes for clothes.
That's all...remember to shop smart shop Borders. Happy Easter

Grand Canyon not Sweet.

Catherine Elsworth at the Grand Canyon
March 22, 2007

IT IS billed as a new architectural wonder of the world. Skywalk, a glass walkway jutting out over the Grand Canyon, has been inaugurated, for the first time allowing visitors the spectacular view of the 1220-metre abyss below their feet.

The $US30 million ($37 million) Skywalk, which extends in a U-shape 21 metres beyond the canyon's edge, was opened by the astronaut Buzz Aldrin. The event involved elders from the Hualapai tribe, on whose ancestral land the walkway centre is built.

The attraction opens to the public next week, when $US25 will buy tourists access to the canyon's western rim at a height more than twice the world's tallest building.

The designers promise the attraction is safe, with 10-centimetre-thick glass, shock absorbers to prevent wobbling and enough space to hold 120 people at a time.

The Skywalk, 190 kilometres east of Las Vegas, was proposed in 1996 by David Jin, a Shanghai businessman. Construction began in 2004. Mr Jin will collect up to half the income from ticket sales for 25 years. The rest will go to the Hualapai, whose reservation is about 150 kilometres west of Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. The tribe of 2200 has an jobless rate of 70 per cent, and more than one-third of them live below the poverty line.

Sheri Yellowhawk, a former tribal council woman, said in December: "We have to do something, and this is something spectacular. We are not building a power plant or high-rise building, we are complementing the canyon and providing something new to the world."

However, tribal members, who believe that their ancestors emerged from the earth of the Grand Canyon, say it intrudes upon land they consider sacred.

"We have disturbed the ground," said Dolores Honga, a tribal elder who regularly travels to the canyon edge to perform traditional dances. Workers on the walkway, which is surrounded by sacred archaeological and burial sites, often complained to her about nightmares.

"Our people, they died right along the land there. They blend into the ground. It's spiritual ground. This is why they're awakened," she said.

Kieran Suckling, an environmentalist at the Centre for Biodiversity, complained about the impact on one of the natural wonders of the world. "The Eiffel Tower is an architectural wonder," he said. "But do I want the Eiffel Tower on the edge of the Grand Canyon? No."

This is my first taken from another source...I hope its all ok with copywrites and what not...I don't like this idea. Leave it alone.

Road Trip To See Someone Famous

Yesterday made a quick road trip out to Cedar Rapids for an authors book signing. Jodi Picoult (pronounced PEEcol)author of some 15 novels was at the Barnes and Noble out there. Nancy, Melissa and I made the short trip out there after they got off work. First stop was someplace to eat. We decided not to eat at someplace we had here in the QC. Found a nice place called. "nothing but Noodles". Good food and filling. Then we went to the under prepared B&N. The place was packed. They said that they had 100 chairs set up. There must have been 250 people standing and sitting. We got in between some shelving units. Took down their sign so Mel could see...Damn short people.
Jodi came out and read from her newest book. Its about a shooting in a high school. She then did the Q&A. Where do your ideas come from, do you use friends as a base, how long, what the next one, advice to new writers. Then it was only 90 minutes to wait and get the books signed and then on the way home.
No bookseller were hurt in the making of this blog.
