Looks Ok the Bridge is a very steep hill. If the biker or runner don't know that they are in for a big surprise. 12 is also a big long hill...surprise again.

This is a nice little park along the Mississippi. I read about it that it had a nice Gazebo overlooking the river. We walked all around this place and never found it. Then we went down this trail and it suddenly ended. Down there in the river was what looked like the base of a platform. Looks like the flood took it out.

This is 5,000 Easter Eggs put out at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. This is just one of five areas set up for kids. this is for the disabled ones.

I May Have Found the Answer To the Problem

For about the last 10 years I've been trying to teach myself to speak Irish. I found a widget that shows me a different work and how to pronounce it. Today's word is for Cel Phone...An Guthan Soghluaiste. It for once is pronounced that way it looks. I'm thinking if I just say Cel,they may know what I mean.


I'm never going to learn this.

Flying a Kite

this is one of those big kites that has a company name on it.
I saw it on the way to my sister's house at the corner of 53rd and Eastern.
Had a strong wind and it was taking two guys to keep control.

Was out for a walk with my sister on Credit Island Park when we saw this goose. I got as close as I felt comfortable to take its picture. I watched me all the time and when we came back around to it it honked and
made sure I saw it again. Other people came and went but he kept his eye on me

Trip Down River to Muscatine

What started out as a drive down to a winery in Coal Valley ended up as a trip to Muscatine and a walk along their beautiful river front. Really windy but at 81F who cared.

Notes from the Cookie

It's been a while since I put up the great words of wisdom that I pulled from the fortune cookies I got while eating at my favorite Asian restaurant.

Good news will be received in a letter. Got this one just before I got my first unemployment check..

You will soon change your present line of work...and this was before Borders closed One should not forget the language of gratitude....this was when I was taken out to dinner while waiting for my unemployment to kick in and was broke broke broke...thank you sister. Wealth is in your future......I'm still waiting

Back Pain

I hurt my back at work. The Doc just said that the best I could do was pain killers and rest. Well the stuff I had at home just didn't do anything. So I looked at Hy Vee and they still make Doan's pills. I didn't get any of those I got the cheaper knock off. It hurt to sit,walk,bend,laugh,cough or breath. It could take 4-6 weeks to be better...yeah!!!

This stuff took the edge off but was still in pain

This stuff just burns for a while and then it smelled like a bad incense.

This seems to work the best.
