Twins At Play

the girls told me that they didn't like it that my blog was being taking over by my walks that their hasn't' been a picture of them for almost 9 post...Here they are in Grandma's back yard playing with bubbles and then down at their local park.

I always said Savannah does things her own way
Much better
While she's not looking I push her
I was asked what the writing on the bridge was..Jason is a bast.....
Savannah lost in the high grass
The Goose Creek
Savannah with nothing to do
The bubble queen herself

Get in I'll pull you around...

Duck Walking

after a wonderful Mother's day meal I knew that I needed to go for a walk. I was thinking of Scott Co Park but...So on the drive home I came up to one of the crossings for the Duck Creek Trail. I turned in to the parking area and went from there. I thought I would walk about 1/2 hr out and then come back.

Starting at Eastern Ave and heading east.
I went all the way to Duck Creek Park were the trail seems to end. I was tired and didn't go looking for the continuation.
Wouldn't believe that this is in the middle of the city.
looks like someone was trying to make themselves a hut of some kind
.6 of a mile to the end

One of the bridges going over the creek.

This walk has been brought to you by Genesis...Never Settle
After a walk you can do a work out on this equipment.

Into the Woods I Go

Today I did something now thinking back on it that was stupid. I went for a walk all by myself in Black Hawk State Park. No one knew I was going or anything like that. But I did it and I'm proud to say I did a pretty good job of it. I printed out the map a week ago and was going to put it in the car but forgot so I just wandered around. I started on the lower right hand side and I believe I went up and around the top of the park and came down in the play area on the top left hand side. Crossed over the road and then came back down the river side to were I started. I was looking for the Pioneer Cemetary but I must have walked right past it.

A good start.
Nice well done trails

creek running through it.
Useless marker with what looked to be a map in it at one time

Wasn't easy to get around. The ground is still soft from the rains.

And we go up

Not holding any bad feelings.

The shelter

Bridge over the highway

Not a place Savannah would like

wild flowers and weeds

Civil War Memorial

Black Hawk War Memorial
trail leading down...no..not going down that one

The Museum and Lodge.

Only because some one did try to do it.

ouch if they did

the mighty Rock River

Just neat.

and on we go

More of the Rock

Some old foundations. Maybe a shelter that got flooded out.

AAAhhhh back to the parking lot and the Blazer...

After Dinner Walk

After a wonder meal at Front Street Brewery Old Lady Gimm and I went for a walk along the Mississippi and over the Arsenal Bridge. That was the fun part of it...looking down through the grill work at the river going past...Eyes fixed ahead..don't look down...

The river is a bit high still.
